3 Day Workshop – The “Explore” Workshop

The 2 Day “Explore” Workshop is an introduction to the mono-printing and layering used in Contemporary Textile Art and is suitable for beginners.
Mirjam shares some simple processes, techniques and approaches that give students the ability to explore the concepts for their own creativity that often delight and surprise them. Students will be introduced to: - The basics of using cotton, silk, organza and paper in making textile art - The process of “Auditioning” materials for the art piece - Opportunity to create a basic contemporary textile art-piece Minimum Group size is 10, and location to be discussed directly with Mirjam. |
Due to Mirjams private client work, these workshops are limited throughout the year, and need to be booked in advance. Bookings are open for 2016.

5 Day Workshop – The “Explore Some More” Workshop

The 3 Day Workshop is a more in-depth experience of making Textile Art and is designed for those who have already completed the “Explore” Workshop.
Students will learn:

This workshop will help students break free from pre-conceived ideas of form and outcome, welcome play, and allow the fabric to speak to their imagination. Mirjam will also share with students an understanding of “Auditioning” fabric as a tool to create a freeform Art Work, and outline key working aspects of fabric, ink and dye / paste.
We use Cotton, Silk, Organza, Paper with printing and transferring print understanding to the art form.
